Gm and welcome to The WASD Weekly!
It was yet another big week in the world of onchain games.
Sky Strife Season 0.2 went live.
Pirate Nation launched a preview of their PvP mode and their Pirate Creator Program.
We even saw some mints from Tarochi and Ducks Everywhere.
These releases are all exciting, however the news that got me the most hyped this week was the announcement of the Autonomous Worlds Summit from Autonomous Anonymous.
The event will be held in Lisbon from April 16-18, with a theme of “Modding, Extensibility, and Composability.”
I’ll be there and can’t wait to see what cool mods get built (And to meet or reunite with onchain gaming frens).
If you’re interested in attending, be sure to apply to do so here.
Now, without further ado, here’s:
A primer on the week’s onchain gaming news
My picks for three games to play this weekend
A list of upcoming playtests, opportunities, and events
A recap of WASD content & mints
Some of the best other content from frens in the ecosystem
A look at Wiz World
And of course…

Wiz World is a 2D-fantasy RPG.
The game is set in a “magical onchain world,” where you can engage in mythical activities like battling monsters or crafting items.
The lifeblood of Wiz World is Gold, an in-game currency.
Players earn gold from defeating monsters or skeletons, which can be used to buy goods like potions, gems, or books from the marketplace.
Each of these items plays a different role within the game, as potions are used to replenish your health and mana, while books and gems can be used to craft spells or enhance items.
Wiz World launched ~2 weeks ago on the Redstone Holesky testnet, where it is currently playable.
Wiz World is promising, though not yet a finished product.
I like crafting, as the mode allows users to create custom designs for items using a simple pixel-art grid similar to that of Dot.
(Funnily enough, this was the project featured in last week’s game spotlight).
I enjoyed attempting to recreate the WASD logo (pictured above) and enchanting it with gems.
However, it’s not entirely clear what enchanting does.
This ties into a broader need for more in-game guidance, as there is no explanation or tutorial on how to play.
This is also true when it comes to battles, as I haven’t determined how their outcomes are determined.
Furthermore, this aspect of the game is pretty simplistic and could be fleshed out.
On the UX side, gameplay in Wiz World feels smooth due to the speed of Redstone and the game’s use of burner wallets.
Onboarding is also very easy, as you can deploy a burner and start playing with one click.
I’m also a big fan of the game’s pixel art style, as the UI looks clean while buildings have a surprising degree of detail.
All in all, while some features feel undercooked right now, I think Wiz World has a lot of potential.
I’ll definitely be keeping tabs to see what new updates ship over the coming weeks and months!
We like the onframe games.
Disclosure: I minted Tarochi Genesis Trainer NFTs.
